{"id":3145,"date":"2017-10-31T10:17:43","date_gmt":"2017-10-31T10:17:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/192.168.70.10\/?p=3145"},"modified":"2019-04-01T09:06:54","modified_gmt":"2019-04-01T09:06:54","slug":"master-of-sport-law","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bas.pt\/en\/communication\/news\/master-of-sport-law\/","title":{"rendered":"Master of Sports Law"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/bas.pt\/en\/equipa\/pedro-madeira-de-brito\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Pedro Madeira de Brito<\/a> was one of the speakers at the &#8216;Sports Law and Sports Policy&#8217; seminar.&#8217; Legal framework of sports agents was the theme addressed by the BAS partner in this event that brought together a vast panel to discuss sports in Funchal.<\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This is a matter that deserves more attention, thanks to the changes in the new labour framework for sports intermediation, which came into force in July this year,&#8221; said Pedro Madeira Brito, also a professor at the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Margin for incorrect interpretations<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Focusing on the triangle formed by practitioners, technicians and agents, the speaker detects many situations that are omitted in this new framework of the Basic Law for Physical Activity and Sport. Fundamentally, &#8220;the law does not tell us much of a legal nature of this role,&#8221; says Pedro Madeira de Brito. The lawyer reminds us that the document may lead to dubious interpretations in an analogy with general laws, where &#8220;there is always a great dichotomy between what is self-employed and subordinate workers.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The event was organized by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jm-madeira.pt\/seminario_desporto\/ver\/17691\/Seminario_JM_Regime_Juridico_dos_agentes_desportivos_em_debate\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">JM-Madeira<\/a> and the Regional Council of the Bar Association.
