Cl\u00e1udia Monge<\/strong>\u00a0authors a chapter in the book “Rescue of Dignity – The Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the 40th Anniversary of the NHS” under the coordination of Jos\u00e9 Martins Nunes and which Minerva Coimbra has just published. <\/strong><\/h2>\n

The lawyer writes about “Social concerns and assistance in sickness in the Portuguese Constitutions (1822 to 1976)”.<\/em><\/p>\n

The coordinator of the publication, Jos\u00e9 Martins Nunes, was chairman of the board of directors of the Coimbra Hospital and University Centre (CHUC) and Secretary of State for Health. As highlighted in connection with the launch of the book, the work aims to mark the 40th anniversary of the National Health Service under the inspiration of the celebrations of the 70th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the 40th anniversary of the adoption by Portugal of the European Convention on Human Rights, and to contribute to the understanding of the history of the right to health protection as a human right and as a fundamental right in Portugal.<\/p>\n

In addition to Cl\u00e1udia Monge<\/a>, the work also includes texts by Agostinho Branquinho, Ana Paula Martins, Andr\u00e9 Dias Pereira, Fernando Ara\u00fajo, Fernando Leal da Costa, Jo\u00e3o Carvalho das Neves, Jos\u00e9 Carlos Lopes Martins, Jos\u00e9 Martins Nunes, Jos\u00e9 Mendes Ribeiro, Jos\u00e9 Pedro Figueiredo, Lu\u00eds de Almeida Sampaio, \u00d3scar Gaspar and Paula Maia Fernandes.<\/p>\n
