The Lex Fellowship in a legal training session at BAS

Elizabeth Rowe and Madalena Mota, members of the Lex Team from The Lex Fellowship program, visited BAS’s office in Lisbon this summer with a group of students for a Legal Training Session. BAS, with great pleasure, agreed to participate in the session on July 10th.

Elizabeth led the group of seven fellows during this visit and prepared them in advance, which also included the participation of Madalena Mota. Cláudia Monge, BAS lawyer and partner, was hosting the session. Cláudia Monge is also a Professor at the Law School of Lisbon University and the Medical School of Lisbon University.

The law firm participated in the pilot year of The Lex Fellowship in Lisbon and previously sent a Health Law case to discuss with the students.

Cláudia Monge held a working session dedicated to Health Law, and the participation of the students and the joint debate were exciting.

Cláudia Monge teaches Fundamental Rights, Human Rights, and European Union Law at the Law School of the University of Lisbon. The approach to health law combines international law, European Union Law, and domestic Law.

At the end, the coordinator of the program contacted BAS’s lawyer “to express our deep gratitude for yesterday’s session with our students. Any other firm covered Health law, and it complemented the students’ experience very well”. “We were happy to have been able to count on you this year and hope to be able to organize a visit to BAS again next year, if you agree.”

It was a happy experience and one that honoured BAS so much! We thank the Lex Team and the students who, with their involvement, enriched the experience.
