Information session on the changes to the Labour Code

What has changed in the Labour Code and its regulations? On October 15th these changes will be the central theme of an information session organized by the American Chamber of Commerce in Portugal. Alexandra Almeida Mota, BAS’s lawyer, is the guest speaker and will also address the Code of Contributory Regimes of the Social Security System.

On October 1, the amendments to the Labour Code and its regulations, as well as to the Code of Contributory Regimes of the Social Security System, introduced by Law No. 93/2019 of 4 September, entered into force, affecting various aspects of labour relations and working conditions and with immediate implications in the day-to-day affairs of businesses.

The session, which is intended to be very practical and active, will be conducted by Alexandra Almeida Mota, BAS’s lawyer in the area of Labour and Social Security. With a law degree from the UCP’s Faculty of Law, Master in the area of Legal Sciences at the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon and expert in “Relationses Laborales”, from the Madrid Business Institute, Alexandra Almeida has been a Lawyer since 1998, working for various top law firms in the country, having participated in several conferences and authoring many published articles.

The event, promoted by the American Chamber of Commerce in Portugal, will take place on October 15th, at the ManpowerGroup auditorium in Lisbon. The registrations can be done by email to pmatos@bas.pt or through the American Chamber of Commerce in Portugal’s site.
